Cranbrookians Secure Places at UK’s Leading Universities

Sixth Form pupils at Cranbrook School celebrated another year of strong A-Level results, achieving places at some of the UK’s leading universities. The results are the product of a great deal of hard work on behalf of both staff and pupils and all are to be applauded for their efforts.

There were a number of students who achieved at the very highest level with fifteen pupils gaining straight A* – A grades. Many other students also set some fantastic personal bests and most have been accepted at their first-choice universities. Cranbrook students have a wonderful array of interests and passions and this is demonstrated in the wide range of courses that have been chosen.

There are always too many deserving students to mention but it is worth celebrating the success of some of the School’s outstanding performers. Tommy achieved a remarkable four A*s and will read Engineering at The University of Oxford and Benedict, with three A*s and one A is off to Manchester to study Mechanical Engineering. The NHS will be pleased to know that some high calibre students are hoping to join their ranks including Grace (three A*s) and Chloe (A*AAA) who has been accepted at King’s College London to study medicine. Equally impressive has been the success of our budding vets with both Celestine (A*A*A) and Vinay heading off to study veterinary medicine. With so much negativity surrounding modern day politicians, it is encouraging to see that several Cranbrookians are keen to study politics at university and credit to Maddy, who achieved two A*s and one A and will head to Leeds to embark on a degree in International Relations.

Head, David Clark, commented ‘It has been a tough few years for this particular cohort of students and they have had to show real resilience amid their many academic challenges. Bearing in mind the additional pressures and the fact that exam boards have deflated grades, our Cranbrook students have achieved many impressive results. Particularly pleasing has been the fact that the majority have managed to secure places at the very best universities and there is no doubt that they will make their marks in the future. Huge well done to the students and their teachers for their commitment and we wish them all the best as they take the next steps on their academic journeys.’
