Year 9 Day Admissions

SEPTEMBER 2022 ENTRY

There are 38 day places for students joining the school in Year 9 September 2022.

The examination for 2022 entry will consist of a Cognitive Ability Test.  Please refer to the downloads available on this page for further information.

The application period is now open until the 1 November 2021 – please complete the Application Form via https://forms.office.com/r/eA0gBr42pt.

Entrance Exam Date

Saturday 20 November 2021 (exact arrangements will be confirmed via email to registered candidates in early November)

 

LATE and IN-YEAR APPLICATIONS

It is unusual for the school to have any places available for students applying outside of the normal round of admissions.

Applying

Students who wish to make an In-Year Application for a Year 9 day place should complete KCCs In-Year Admission Form via this link:  https://www.kent.gov.uk/__data/assets/pdf_file/0012/3522/in-year-application-form.pdf.

Testing

As Cranbrook School is a selective Grammar School, all students have to undergo testing.  We will liaise with you to make arrangements for testing to take place.

If you wish to apply for a Year 9 day place, your child will be assessed using the Cranbrook School Entrance Exam, further information on which can be requested from the Registrar.

Outcome of Application

You will be advised on the outcome of your Application within 15 school days of the test result being known.  You will be offered a place if:

  • Your child meets with our entry requirements
  • A place is available
  • No other child has a higher priority for the place
