Testing

As Cranbrook School is a selective Grammar School, all students have to undergo testing.  We will liaise with you to make arrangements for testing to take place.

If you wish to apply for a Year 7 day place, until the end of the first term in the School year, your child will need to be assessed using the Kent 11+ Test.  After December of the year of entry your child will be assessed using a CAT4 test, further information on which can be requested from the Registrar.

For candidates who have not been successful in the Kent 11+ test, the earliest opportunity an application can be made for a year 7 place is the summer term of year 7 when they will be assessed using a CAT4 test.

Outcome of Application

You will be advised on the outcome of your Application within 15 school days of the test result being known.  You will be offered a place if:

  • Your child meets with our entry requirements
  • A place is available
  • No other child has a higher priority for the place

If your child is not offered a place you can:
