Cranbrook School - Respect Aspire Achieve

Music

Our Music Department has a long-standing tradition of involving students both inside and outside the classroom itself.

A varied and comprehensive concert diary is supported by a regular pattern of weekly rehearsals, many of which are held in the Vickers’ Auditorium. The School has an Orchestra, Jazz Band, Choir, Saxophone group, String Quartets, Rock Group, Stomp Style Percussion group, Brass Group and a chamber choir – The Elizabeth Consort. In addition to providing music for whole school occasions, students regularly take part in concerts and recitals. There are also many opportunities for pupils to play in School and House Assemblies.

Other fixed points in the musical calendar include the Battle of the Bands, the House Singing Festival, the Allan House Musical Soiree, The School Carol Service and Speech Day. The school has nineteen visiting music teachers, with over 200 peripatetic music lessons taught each week.
