Sellers House

Sellers House was re-established in September 2024 as an all-through day house for students from Year 7 to Year 13. We come together daily in Tutor Groups and hold a weekly assembly, fostering a strong sense of community. At Sellers, we take pride in our commitment to academic, personal, and social growth, while upholding respect for one another and the environment. We celebrate the diversity of our talents and interests, from sports and music to drama and beyond.

Our House motto, “Sic Itur Ad Astra”“Thus One Journeys to the Stars”—reflects our aspirations and pays tribute to Old Cranbrookian, and former Rammell boy, Piers Sellers, a NASA astronaut who carried the school’s charter into space. As a house, we embrace the excitement of new beginnings and the boundless opportunities ahead.

Leadership and student voice are integral to our house culture. Each Tutor Group elects a student councillor, and four students proudly represent Sellers House on the School Student Council. We are also passionate about making a difference beyond our school community, supporting our house charity, Surfers Against Sewage, which campaigns for cleaner waterways and oceans and raises awareness about plastic pollution.

Sellers House is twinned with Rammell Boarding House, forming a vital part of Cranbrook’s integrated house system. This connection strengthens the bonds between boarders and day students, creating a supportive and dynamic environment that extends from Year 7 through to Year 13. With a focus on both academic excellence and personal development, Rammell fosters a strong house spirit and provides outstanding support for all its students.
