Allan House

Allan House is named after Reverend John Allan, considered to be the school’s greatest headmaster, who was only 33 years old when he took the reins in 1851.  He died in 1866 and is buried under a yew tree in the churchyard of St. Dunstan’s.  Allan house is a friendly House that is led by two House Captains and Deputy House captains from year 13.  These seniors help with the day-to-day running of the House and the House Council enables all members of the House to contribute.  With the combination of the girls and boys house, Allan is now the largest house in the school with 160 students, who all take pride in their contribution to the House and school.

Main events are Allantines and Allan Soiree. Allantines is a Valentines themed charity event where students anonymously buy a chocolate heart for someone with a positive message attached. Proceeds go towards a Charity decided by the Charity Reps.

Partnered with Allan, Blubery Boarding House is a close-knit and supportive boarding community where students feel a strong sense of belonging. With dedicated house staff, academic mentoring and an enriching evening and weekend programme, Blubery ensures every student thrives.
