Lynx House
Lynx House is the newest day house, coming into existence in 2019. It’s history comes from the very beginnings of the school with William Lynch carrying out the wishes of John Blubery from his will, and Simon Lynch later ensuring the continuation of schooling in Cranbrook. The Lynch family crest contained ‘three rampant lynxes’, these were later adopted by the school in the late 19th Century. Our motto is ‘Nosce te ipsum’ meaning ‘Know Yourself’ and the logo was designed by OC Willow Goldfinch.
Being the newest house in the school gave Lynx students an opportunity to really put their unique stamp on things which is something they certainly have done. We pride ourselves on an open and inclusive environment, providing a safe and happy space for our members. Over the last 3 years Lynx has gone from strength to strength and is now an established member of the school’s proud house system.
Our senior students have a large involvement in the running of the house, organising such events as inter-house sports, House Shout, Lynx House Dinner as well as fundraising for our house charity ‘The Purple Wish Foundation’. We are also fortunate to have a caring and competent team of tutors who are our student’s first line of contact.
Twinned with Lynx, Scott Boarding House provides a nurturing and inclusive environment where boarders grow academically, socially and personally. With shared tutor groups and house competitions strengthening connections across the school, Scott House ensures students feel supported and engaged throughout their time at Cranbrook.
