Year 9 students create bespoke books for primary school children

Thursday 7th March marked World Book Day and saw a collection of Year 9 students visit Cranbrook Primary School to deliver bespoke children’s books created and written by our students.

Matching Year 9 students with their Year 1 counterparts before Christmas, our Year 9 students have developed relationships and been working hard to write and illustrate stories that reflected the demands of their new younger friends. A wonderful experience for all concerned, our students read aloud their stories to an excited audience. The books are now located in the Year 1 Reading Corner for all to enjoy. We hope to continue this venture with another group of students next term and so further foster our ties with Cranbrook Primary School.
