Year 8 student enters national song-writing competition with a beautiful piece about war

Elise Neal in Year 8 has been entered into a national song-writing competition after her teacher, Ms. Barrett, spotted her talent back in Year 7.

The theme for the competition is the impact of war/conflict upon communities and Elise has been working on this song since around the October half term. She recently recorded the song, and here lyrics are pictured below (please click to enlarge). She sings and plays the piano on this recording and is such a talented young lady.

We wish her all the best with the competition, and if you would like to know more about it please click here. In addition, Elise is also considering The BBC Young Composer Competition 2020 – watch this space!

Please take a listen to her brilliant performance below:

Cranbrook 1st beat the OC’s in their last match of the season by 4 runs. What a brilliant game, clearly enjoyed by all. Good luck to the OC’s in your next few games. Well done and thank you to all our Year 13 Leavers, particularly Cam, Piers and The Laver lads. 🏏💪🏆
