Year 7 students treated to French play at school

On Thursday 13th February, the Year 7 students were lucky to attend the French play Écris-moi in the Queen’s Hall. They followed the story of French girl Renée and English boy Ashley via emails, as they become pen-pals and enjoy writing to each other in each other’s language. However, the situation becomes tricky when Renée invites Ashley for the weekend. She is clearly expecting Ashley to be a girl, and Ashley is expecting Renée to be a boy! Their first encounter at the Eurostar station does not go well at all, as they are forced to spend this now dreaded weekend in each other’s company!

However, Ashley is determined to try his best French and win over disappointed Renée. After a day visiting the Paris sites and the help of our students to translate things for Ashley, it looks like the pair could become friends after all…

Une leçon de Français très amusante!
