Year 7 student chosen for England Under 13 Girls Team in Sabre Fencing

We are delighted with the news received only this week from England Fencing that Lucia has been selected to form part of the England U13 Girls Team in Sabre Fencing! She will be representing England at the International Competitions in 2019.

Fencing is an old sport, with references dating back to the Egyptians and one of the four sports firstly introduced in the Olympics. Lucia  started fencing over two years ago, and enjoys it’s fast pace, tactic skills and most of all the fun of competing. She has been training on average three times a week, and over the past 12 month she has participated in over a dozen competitions in the UK, including the Britsh Fencing Championships held in June 2018 where she won Bronze in the U12 Girls competition.

Selection to the England Team 2019 is a great development opportunity where she will gain international competition experience, the next one taking place in Wrocklav – Poland. For more information on the competition, please visit the England Fencing Website.
