Year 10 GCSE Geography Trip to Rye and Pett Level
On Thursday 13th and Friday 14th June, 114 Year 10 geography students collected data in Rye and Pett Level for their paper 3 GCSE exam.
They spent the morning in Rye asking visitors and local residents about the impacts of tourism; they also did a clone town survey of the high street and completed an environmental quality survey.
During the afternoon, they compared the managed coastline at Pett Level with the unmanaged coastline at Cliff End. This involved collecting data for the beach profiles and looking at the effectiveness of the groynes. Fortunately, the weather was kind to us on both days although it was rather gusty on the Thursday with the staff almost losing their voices by constantly battling with the wind!
