Top Tips on How to Use Plastic Efficiently

Learn How to Preserve the Planet

By Scarlett, Evie, Tad and Felix

Did you know 300 million tons of plastic waste is produced globally each year and only 10% of that is recycled? It is estimated that 7 million tons of that waste ends up in the ocean each year. This has ended up contributing to health problems for animals and humans.

However, You Can Help.

There are many different ways to help the plastic population decrease. Just by recycling it will reduce the amount that is produced and is causing many problems.

After recycling, the plastic is taken to create other items like clothing and DIY materials.

Some items/creations you can make out of plastic are:

  • Planters made of plastic bottles
  • Jewellery
  • Lightbulbs
  • Lamps
  • Fancy Dress
  • Bird feeders
  • Pencil Holders

And finally, we looked at the other ways people have helped stop plastic waste. In this instance, Indonesia has created a mosaic wall of plastic bottle caps after a hurricane hit.
