A-level results: 70.3% A*-B, 90% A*-C – great stuff Y13 leavers!

Cranbrook School is celebrating some excellent individual performances at A-level this year and a great result overall. Despite the increased challenge resulting from recent reforms, results have remained at a good level. Of the grades achieved, 70% were at A*-B and 90% at A*-C.

Two students, John Goodwin and Angus Thomas – achieved four straight A* grades, with a further five achieving three A* grades.  Nine students have gained places at Oxbridge colleges and a host of others have gained places at their first choice universities.

Headmaster, John Weeds, commented, “Our students have performed superbly this year especially when the changes to A-level are taken into account.  It is even tougher to gain those top grades now and it is great to see so many of our students achieving them.  None of this would be possible without the excellent work of our teaching staff on our students’ behalf.  They really have gone the extra mile in getting to grips with the new structure of A-level with the big emphasis now on final exams at the end of two years and at the same time teaching to a phenomenal level to get these results.”
