Science Facilities

Science facilities at Cranbrook School include the following:

There are 8 main science laboratories:

Three Biology laboratories:  B1 & B2 have recently been fully refurbished, and had multi-media / interactive white-boards fitted. W5 has had a new interactive white-board fitted.

Two Physics laboratories; P1 and P2 have now been fully refurbished with multi / media and interactive board.

Two Chemistry laboratories; C1 and C2 have now been fully refurbished with multi / media and board.

One Physical Sciences laboratory (Phys & Chem.); W3 has been fully refitted and has an interactive whiteboard.

In addition the science facilities also include:

The Lecture Theatre: this is now fully refurbished with new seating for 100 students plus new sympodium interactive presentation equipment, full multi media package and high quality projector and improved presentation facilities for science demonstrations.

The Observatory / Science centre: this building has a full sliding roof observatory to house the schools 22 and a half inch reflector telescope. The telescope is currently being fitted and automated control developed with help from CADSAS.
The Science centre provides a venue for small scale teaching and for project work.

CHANGE OF DATE FOR YEAR 12 PARENTS' EVENING

The date for Year 12 Parents' Evening has been changed to  Thursday 8th March. It will take place in the Performing Arts Centre from 6.00pm.

 
ARTS WEEK 2012

Arts Week takes place this year from Monday 27th February until Sunday 4th March with a full programme of exciting and varied events including drama, art, literature, dance and music.

Safer Internet Day takes place on February 12th and to help promote this CEOP (Child Exploitation and Online Protection) is working with other agencies to provide free resources to parents and schools.

NEW HEAD TEACHER AND ACADEMY STATUS

The Governors of Cranbrook School are delighted to announce the appointment of a new head teacher for the school.  John Weeds, currently Principal at Reading School will take up the post in September 2012 following the retirement of the current head teacher, Angela Daly.
