The school has a small purpose built science centre for specialist science teaching which includes a classroom, an environmental science room and an observatory.
The centre is used for the teaching of Astronomy, Electronics and Geology as well as serving as a base for CADSAS, the Cranbrook and District Science and Astronomy Society.
The observatory is equipped with a number of telescopes. There are two Meade reflectors 10” and 6”, a small solar telescope and a 3.5” refractor. The main instrument is a 22.5” Newtonian reflecting telescope which is currently being rebuilt and upgraded. Please follow the link to see details of this on the CADSAS website.
