The School’s Sustainability Week, from 14th to 18th February, took the theme of ‘Sustainable Seas and Fish Stocks’ and included a series of assemblies, lectures, debates and cookery classes around this theme.
On Tuesday 15th, representatives from the Hastings Fishermen Protection Society gave an assembly to the 6th form and the Eco-Schools Action Committee is leading the way in trying to encourage restaurants in Cranbrook to join Hugh Fernley-Whittingstall’s ‘Fish Fight’ campaign to serve sustainable fish on their menus. Cranbrook student Josh Powell has compiled a Sustainable Fish List, with the help of the ‘Fish Fight’ campaign, and you are encouraged to view this now to help you make the right choices when eating fish.
