Languages
French, German and Spanish are all offered up to Advanced level at Cranbrook School. The MFL department comprises 6 full or part-time  staff, most of whom teach at least two of the languages available.  We are based in four adjacent, fully equipped classrooms all of which contain interactive  whiteboards  which further widens the teaching and learning experiences on  offer.

We aim to interest, motivate and enthuse students through an appropriate "bain linguistique" and to encourage them to study one,  or more languages for as long as possible, often combining the study  of a foreign language with a wide variety of subject choices in the  sixth form.

We were awarded Language College Status from April 2009 (see 'Language Status' section of this website).

It is hoped that, on leaving Cranbrook School, a student will have acquired  a firm foundation in one, or more, language(s) and that this foundation  may be built upon, or serve them well, in later life, whether for work  or for social purposes.
