We aim to offer the students a variety of experiences in their lessons where we are keen to develop the students' skills in communicating their ideas effectively, both in writing and also in speech. We hope to inspire in our students a love of the English language and its literature and an interest in our linguistic and literary heritage.
We believe the study of English can foster a lifelong love of literature and reading and we continually encourage the students to read from our English Literary Heritage but also from other cultures. In lessons students are given opportunities to read, write and take part in oral activities such as discussion, debate, play reading and improvisation.
Through extra-curricular activity we train our students to develop their skills in public speaking, debating and in mock trials; we rely heavily on English students to represent the school in the many events and competitions in which we take part. We arrange trips to extend our students' learning.
