Drama is largely about 'doing', so the department's aim is to engage pupils by providing them with an enjoyable and stimulating experience of the subject through practical work.
We also aim to look at the presentation of drama and theatre through a detailed look at texts, character, setting and design. We also employ a range of drama based strategies such as improvisation and role play, and it is through these activities that our young people can learn more about themselves, their relationships with others, and the world in which they live.
The Queen's Hall is the home of the Drama Department. The Drama Studio in the Performing Arts Centre is a more flexible space for curriculum work, rehearsals and workshops.
