Latin is exciting because it is different from the usual National Curriculum subjects. Those who opt for GCSE Latin are prepared to meet the challenge and enjoy themselves along the way. The Department teaches the OCR board specification.
Year 10 sees further development of the students' knowledge of the language. We continue to follow the Cambridge Latin Course.
As they enter Year 11, students experience Latin works of real Roman authors and start work on the 'set text' section of the specification. Year 11 students focus on completing set text work and put in plenty of practice for the language GCSE paper. As a useful resource the students can access all the set texts and their translations using the school's portal site. They can also download podcasts of the texts for revision purposes.
