Information Before Application
We strongly recommend that parents ensure that they have looked around the school (and, if applicable, a boarding house) before they make their application. Tours (which take place on weekdays and within school hours during term time) may be booked via the school office on 01580 711800.

 

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE NEW TEST DATE FOR DAY STUDENTS FOR 2011 ENTRY IS 5TH FEBRUARY 2011

Who Can Apply?
All applicants for Cranbrook School must hold either a UK or an EU passport, or have the right of abode in the UK.
Boarding applicants may live anywhere in the UK, or overseas.
Day applicants may also apply from anywhere in the UK or overseas, but in recent years the oversubscription criteria have always had to be applied. Details of these criteria are given on the information sheets in the Admission Policies.
 
Preferred Area
An outline map of the area of first preference can be obtained from the school.  A definition of the preferred area is given in the admissions policy.

Closing Date for Registration
Candidates for 13+ (Year 9) boarding entry must be registered by 31 October of the year preceding entry.
Candidates for 13+ (Year 9) or 16+ (Year 12) day entry must be registered by 30th January 2011.

Information Sessions
An information session designed specifically for those planning for 13+ entry and 16+ entry in the following year is held during the Autumn Term. At other times we prefer to arrange individual appointments.

Saturday September 18th: 13+ Information Session, 10.30am Queen's Hall

Tuesday 5th October: 11+ Information Session, 7.30pm, Queen's Hall

Saturday 6th November: 16+ Information Session, 10.30am, Queen's Hall

Tours of the School: Please note there are no tours during or after the information sessions.  Tours will be held on the following dates - Tuesday 21st September, 9.10am;  Wednesday 22nd September 11.30am;  Thursday 11th November 9.10am for Sixth Form applicants

Fees
Day students do not pay fees as tuition is free.
Boarding students do not pay tuition fees but the Governors charge £3,255.00 per term (from September 2010) for the boarding facility.  6th Form boarding fees are £3,905.00 per term.

Responsibility
The Governors of Cranbrook School are responsible for admissions to the School. A copy of the School's Admissions Policy may be obtained from the Registrar.

Cranbrook School invites interested parents and candidates to information sessions for 2011 entry to the School.   Please note that the entry test date for 2011 entry is February 5th 2011.

SCHOOL FACILITIES

The school swimming pool and tennis courts are not available for use by parents during the summer holidays.

The Science Extravaganza held on 2nd July was a huge success with over 1000 people attending.

SPEECH DAY CELEBRATION

The rain held off just long enough for Speech Day to be celebrated in style with drinks and canapés on the Gym Lawn after the prize-giving service in St Dunstan’s Church.

During the Spring Term the Healthy School team ran an Inter-House Recipe Competition.  Students were invited to submit their own recipes, all with a healthy slant.
